- Never hand a pair of scissors to a Kurd directly. Place them on the table for the person opposite you to pick up. If you hand scissors to a Kurd, it’s a declaration that you dislike them and are destined to fight.
- Never go outside with wet hair, especially if you are a woman. If you do, people will consider you promiscuous. This is because in Islam, after having sex, you are required to cleanse yourself before prayer. By showing the world that you’ve just taken a shower, it’s akin to declaring you’ve just had sex. And if you are unmarried, this can be doubly embarrassing and shameful.
- If you’re a woman, don’t look a man in the eyes unless you’re conducting a business transaction. Same for a man – don’t look women in the eyes.
- Keep your knees and shoulders (maybe even elbows) covered, people! Sandals are okay, though.
